Temporarily Party of Five

At about 10am this morning, our guest for the week, Eva, arrived. The boys were over the moon to see her. I tried to contain their excitement, but they couldn't. Samantha, who dropped Eva off, hung out for about an hour so that I can get everything set up. The kids were just sitting down for a snack when Samantha left. They had a quick bite, then I took them all on a walk.

Oh. My. Gosh. It took me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to get them out the door. It was actually comical. I had intended to take them to the community center, but remembered at the last minute that there's a tiny playground just outside of the arboretum. Vincent walked by my side, while the tots rode in the stroller. It was just the perfect outing for us. It was warm, the kids got some fresh air, played, and Vincent got a little energy out from the walk.
We didn't spend much time at the playground, as lunch was still to be had. Lunch was mac 'n' cheese with cut up mini hot dogs and broccoli. They kids ate it all up! Total kid-friendly meal.

After lunch, I tried out our sleeping situation. All the kids beds were lined up against one wall in the boys' room. Vincent would rest downstairs, but Tyler and Eva would nap together. It's a good thing both kids were tired and ready for some sleep. I had to go in once to tell them to be quiet, but that was it. They napped for over 2 hours together!

After naptime, the kids just played and played together. There was a moment when Vincent and Eva ran back and forth between the living room, dining room and kichen for about 10 minutes, screaming. Tyler sort of hung back, complaining to them to stop. They all mostly played with the trains on the train table. Eva's at the age where she loves trains...as is Tyler.

I didn't make dinner tonight. David came home a little early because he did a volunteer event on Bainbridge Island today. He rode his bike there and back. So proud of him. We walked the kids over to the ale house. They all did really well.

On the way back, we popped in at the Greek festival that was waking place near our house. WOW! Yeah, that's one we'll look forward to for years to come.

Bedtime took a while, but they all eventually fell asleep. Eventually.
