Big 6 Year Old

Tonight, we let Tyler pick a friend to take out with us to his birthday dinner. He asked if we could invite his friend, Dash and Dash's older brother. Of course. This Pikachu shirt was a bday gift from his grandma (my mom).

Happy 6th Birthday, Tyler!

This photo was taken yesterday at school. Tyler got to celebrate his birthday with his classmates.
I made the class cake pops.
Today is Tyler's big day! Unfortunately, he still has to go to Chinese school, since he's had the last couple weeks off for mid-winter break. And, we were supposed to have his party today, but we postponed it, due to his scooter accident. Instead, we are taking the boys & two friends to Old Spaghetti Factory tonight for dinner.

At six years old, Tyler is sweet, smart, creative, loving, full of energy, brave (except when it comes to movies), and funny. He can whistle very well. He comes up with interesting Lego creations (his latest was hockey guys). He is a Level E reader. He loves Pokemon and Plants Vs Zombies. He's tall for his age. He still enjoys eating. He still doesn't like ham. This week, he earned his red tip in karate to advance to his CAMOUFLAGE belt! And, he is "the best 2nd baby bear in the world."
I love you, TyBaby!!

Spicy Butter Masala

Last night, I made chicken simmered in this butter masala sauce out of a jar from Trader Joe's. It had a kick. All of us sat at the table with our mouths on fire. Yet, to my surprise, my boys all ate it. Tyler said, "It tastes so gingery and is spicy, but I like it!" Vincent, who doesn't usually tolerate spice, ate it, then went to get milk. But, he didn't complain. And, Crosby ate most of his, including the chicken, which he normally doesn't care for.

Nice work, Trader Joe's!

No Physical Activity

So, last week, Tyler fractured the orbit of his eye (it's part of the skull, under the eyeball). Ouch! Right? Yup, he fell on the handlebar of his scooter. He's doing great now, but we've been told he reds to take it super easy the next 3 weeks. This includes no P.E., recess, karate, saxophone playing, blowing his nose hard, and postponing his birthday party.

Crosby and I decided to have lunch with him at school yesterday to cheer him up. Both brothers loved this, as well as Tyler' classmates. Crosby sat next to Tyler like one of the big kids, happy as a clam.
