After dinner (which was vegetarian, except I did use chicken stock, and super yummy), we took the boys to Madrona playground to let Vincent practice riding his bike without training wheels. But, first, we stopped at the nearby market for some dessert.
Neither boys could finish their ginormous fruit pops.
I started off helping Vincent on his bike. Actually, I didn't really do anything but tell him what to do. He took his bike up the little slope and tried crusing down without peddling. He did try a couple times to get his feet on the peddles, but had a hard time. After about 3 or 4 times coming down the hill, I thought maybe he should just try on the smooth surface of the basketball court. Amazingly, he started riding his bike! Check it out!
Right after he did so well, though, he started to have a tough time. He ended up getting super frustrated, got off his bike, and walked off, pouting loudly. I kept trying to get him to calm down, but he just yelled at me. I told him that he should just take a break and let his body rest and calm down, but he wanted to get back on. After a couple more tries, more frustration, and a hug, he finally said he wanted to rest, and maybe come back to it later when he has calmed down. Thank goodness! He played for a short while in the playground, then David got him back on the bike. David's so good. He helped give him a little push to get started a few times, but it didn't take long for Vincent to get it all on his own. We're so proud of him, and he is, too.
At one point, Vincent stopped, threw his fist up in the air and shouted, "I can ride a bike!"
