Seaside Or Bust!

David and I were thinking it over, and this will be our longest family vacation, just the 4 of us, ever. We've done plenty of trips together, but most involved one, even two, sets of grandparents. Or, if it was just us, the longest was 3 days, 2 nights. This trip will be a total of 6 days, 5 nights. I guess the last 2.5 days will be visiting friends in Portland.

Anyway, it was an exciting first day. Highlights:
-Kids fell asleep almost immediately after we got on the road. We drove all the way to Aberdeen while they slept. In Aberdeen, we stopped at Burger King for food. There was a play area!
-Arrived in Seaside a little after 4pm. Awesome view of the beach from our condo.
-Went out to the beach to check it out. Vincent was so excited, and started getting his feet wet. Tyler joined in, and both boys enjoyed running back and forth as the tide came in and out. Eventually, Tyler got knocked down by the tiniest "wave." Oops!

-Back to the condo to get cleaned up. Vincent took his first shower on his own. ( I have a picture, but it needs to be censored)
-Dinner...Go looking for a place called Maggie's and discover some of the fun things in Seaside. Make a note to go back after dinner.
-Finally found Maggie's, and decide to dine on the patio. Yikes - too cold! Head inside. Service was painfully slow, but food was decent, and my Peach Margarita was oh-so-refreshing. We also caught the sunset.
-Back to Seaside attractions, where we take stock of all the things we want to do the next day. Let the kids play a little bit at the arcade, then head back to condo.
-Boys share a room and a king-sized bed. Not only did they go to bed late, but they couldn't fall asleep. Can't blame 'em.
