Independence Day 2011

This morning started with David's alarm going off just after 7am. WHAT?! It woke Tyler up, but, we pulled him into bed with us, and we all fell back to sleep until just after 9am. By then, we were the last ones to get up.

Breakfast was a scramble, with mushrooms, onions, spinach and bacon. We ate outside on the deck in the sunshine. Nice.

After breakfast, our boys were so super squirrely. David and I decided to take them back down to the beach and let them dig around. We were followed shortly by the rest of the party. Awesome, awesome day. Best Forth of July weather I've seen in a really long time.

Gorgeous.
Yesterday's geoduck was located, and eventually dug up. Unfortunately, we wanted to make sure we got back home at a decent time, so we left before getting a chance to taste it. We took the Bainbridge ferry home, as the Kingston had a two hour wait. No wait at Bainbridge. Ooh, check it out! Vincent got to ride on the ATV ("Big Red") back up to the car.
It was such a beautiful ride back to Seattle. As the boat was taking off, Vincent was covering his ears in anticipation for the horn to blow. Somehow we had convinced him it wouldn't, but, it did. It totally startled Tyler and he screamed loudly (in front of many people) and began crying. It was so sad, yet, SO FUNNY (sorry, TyTy).
Check out Mt. Rainier, just to the right of Tyler's head.
Back at home, we let the boys run around in the backyard, playing with water. We had a nice, lowkey dinner at home. The boys fell asleep before the fireworks started up at Lake Union. Thank goodness, cuz it was loud.
