This morning, we went for a walk to the arboretum's Azalea Way to help Vincent work on his bike riding skills. The idea was that we'd find a slight incline in the grass for him to cruise down, so when he falls, it's soft. The gravity would help him move. So, we put knee and elbow pads and his helmet on him and sent him on his way.
Not so successful.
But, he made progress. We basically had him go down the hill without pedaling and had him try to pull his feet off the ground and just cruise. Easier said than done. He tried so hard, and I was pretty hard on him, but I didn't want for him to give up. David had gone off with Tyler and when the came back, Vincent did one last run to show them what he had worked on. He didn't succeed in pedaling, but he did get both feet off the ground and he did cruise.
This afternoon was a birthday party at Arena Sports' Fun Zone. Ty didn't get to go last time, but we made a point to bring him today. Fun, fun, fun, indeed.
At home, before dinner, we let the kids play on a Slip and Slide for the very first time. It got up to 80 degrees today! Tyler didn't play until after we turned the water off, Vincent couldn't quite understand the sliding part, and David, well, take a look...
