Vincent has been asking us to let him sleep in his underwear for a couple of months now. The agreement was that if he can go 5 nights straight with a dry pull-up, then we'll try out underwear.
Things weren't going too well, until he learned that his friend, Julian, had gone 2 nights in a row with underwear on. That really made him want to wear big boy pants to bed. We held our ground and said he needed to have those 5 straight nights, but we moved the potty chair into the boys' room, right next to his bed.
The first 2 nights, he must've gotten up in the middle of the night, because neither of us heard him, but there was pee in the potty two mornings in a row. The next 2 nights, nothing in the potty, no wake ups & a dry bed. The 5th night, he woke up a couple of times, upset, but dry, and made it to the morning without a drop. That was 5 nights in a row!
Last night, he went to bed with big boy pants on. This morning, he woke up dry and there was no pee in the potty. Woohoo! Such a big boy. I'll let you know how successful we are with this in a few days.
Speaking of big boy, right now, he's sitting on the floor doing an activity book with a pencil. Practicing writing his name and drawing straight & curvy lines.
