Go Fly A Kite, and Second Tigers & Cheetahs Party This Weekend

Lately, I've been a little obsessed with PCC Natural Markets, and I'm kind of in love with this area of Seattle just north of us: Bryant, Wedgewood, Sandpoint, View Ridge, etc. We considered that area when we were thinking of buying a house, but really felt strongly about staying south of the ship canal. I'm totally happy with our decision to do that, but now that we're just 2 miles closer to that area, I feel like it's really close, especially Magnuson Park. That is one cool, giant space in Seattle.

David took two of my new faves, and put them together for us this morning. We took a trip to PCC, picked up some picnic items, and went to Magnuson Park for some playtime and picnicing.

We let the kids decide what they wanted to do first: playground or kite flying. They chose kite flying. Well, Vincent picked that, and Tyler picked the other. Of course. We settled on the latter.

We were just on Kite Hill last weekend, helping out with rubber duckies! Today, was our first family kite flying experience. Thank you, Gabe & Sarah, for the awesome Blue Angels kites given to us back in February.
Tyler wanted to go down by the water, so I took him. We threw rocks into the lake and stuck our feet in, too.
After the water, Tyler was determined to walk up the hill on his own to find Vincent and Daddy.
Daddy and Tyler admire Vincent's kite flying.
At the playground, we ran into Vincent's school friend, Max. They had a great time running around together.

This evening, we went to the end-of-the-year party for Vincent's preschool classes, the Tigers and Cheetahs. Wow. Crazy kiddos fun! Actually, when everyone first arrived, the twins who live in the house were finishing up a movie, Tarzan (Disney). All the kids plopped down in front of the screen, too, and for about 30 minutes, parents were able to greet each other, talk a little, grab a beer...Then, the movie was over.

It was a fun time. I think the highlight, other than all the friends and toys to play with, were the rice krispies treats on a stick.
