"Sail To Mamaland!"

So says Tyler, as we play a little game he called, "Pirate Pets." He's so stinking cute, it kills me.
It's easy to get totally wrapped up with a sick kid, that the other one ends up with less attention, or constantly gets told to stay out of the way, while the sick one is being tended to. I tried to avoid doing this to Tyler by taking him upstairs and spending a little time with him. David hung out with Vincent, who is doing better, but not by much. At least, he's eating and drinking a bit now. Well, no, right this moment, he's asleep on his and Tyler's old crib mattress on our bedroom floor.
This is what Tyler and I did:
Tyler and I started off playing a game about pets. I really wasn't sure exactly how to play this. He sort of did his own thing, while I watched. Mr. Potato Head made an appearance and caused lots and lots of giggles for Tyler. Then, Mr. P.H. was put away, and Ty started in on another adventure. The lights got turned off, a flashlight turned on, and he went looking of a treasure. It was his pirate box, shaped like a treasure chest. Inside is a hook, a hat, a map, another map, and a bandana. Usually, there are also a telescope and a pouch of gold doubloons, but not today. He quickly put on the hat, had me wrap the bandana around his waist, and pretty much played on his own. I sat on the rocking chair, and chimed in here and there, but he was so content telling the "pets" what to do. BTW, the pets were his tiny little black doggie, an Oregon beaver, and Perry The Platypus. At one point, he shouted out, "Sail to Mamaland!", and hopped on to his bed with all the pets and their vehicles (a seaplane and a garbage truck), and started sailing. I was amazed with his imagination, and ability to orchestrate this little adventure he was on.

Here's our fearless pirate captain.
