Preschool, Safeway, and Soccer

Now that spring break's over, Vincent started his final stretch of preschool for the year. There's only about 6 weeks left. It's crazy how quickly the year has zoomed by. The Tiger class is currently working on the "pond unit," and this week's letter is "U." Yup, we're really at the end. This evening, Vincent sang a song about dinosaurs that he learned from Teacher Emily. It was very cute to listen to how excited he was to share it with us.

Vincent also had a soccer game this evening. Since it wasn't until 6pm, we had dinner ahead of time, and we didn't pack him a snack. David said that the snacking has become a bit out of hand with the kids. They all want to show off their snacks, eat others' snacks, but don't want to share their own. He was happy not to bring one for Vincent today. Maybe it had something to do with Vincent not getting a snack, or maybe it was just coincidence, but David also reported back, "It was like something clicked." He said they played well, and actually seemed to understand what was going on.

While they were at soccer, Tyler and I went grocery shopping at Safeway. Man, that store SUCKS. This particular one, especially sucks. Actually, no, the one on Madison sucks, too. At least, that one seems newer and nicer, but only slightly. The one on 15th is the best one, but I'm usually disappointed there as well. I went to this one, University, because I had a $5 off coupon and needed provisions for the week. I found almost everything on my list, but I wasn't thrilled about their choices. This store is next to a QFC that is really nice, so I thought this had to be a nice store. Wrong. Oh well. At least we have food in the house now.

While we were at Safeway, Tyler was in rare form. He was talking up a storm, but in sort of a pesky way. He was commenting on many of the items in the store, and saying, "Go dis way, Mommy," "I want dat one," "Can we have dis?" Sheesh! On top of that, when we got home, he needed to go to the bathroom, and as he sat there, we kept talking and talking about nothing. Then, we all had a dessert, and he blabbed on and on, again. Oh man, between him and Vincent, I fear my ears are going to be exhausted from here on out.

Finally, tonight's dinner was a bust.
