Then, along came Sunday...

With no plans for the day, we decided to take them to Country Village Bothell. What a fun time it turned out to be. Here are the highlights.

Afterwards, we went to Red Robin for my free birthday burger. Yeah, if you sign up for their "club" they send you a free burger coupon each year for your birthday. I didn't go for anything too fancy, just a bacon cheddar burger. When I gave our server the coupon, she asked me if I wanted a birthday sundae and for them to sing me a song in addition. Corny, but it did actually make me feel pretty special. Don't worry, though, you didn't miss my birthday. It's not 'til Wednesday. You still have time!

Vincent celebrated by having two drinks at one time.Tyler celebrated by devouring all his mac n cheese, and then some of Vincent's. When it was all gone, he did this to show he was done.
After naptime, we got ready for our dinner guests, Tom & his brother, Brian. We grilled brats, had a salad, and ate potato chips. After dinner, Vincent was passing out (ink) stamps on everyone's hands. When Tom asked if he could have a "tatoo" too, Vincent responded with, "This is not a tatoo. I have Lightning McQueen tatooes upstairs." I had no idea what he was talking about. Tom asked if he could see them, so Vincent went running upstairs. He returned with a box of Valentine's cards that included tatooes. I couldn't believe he remembered those things! All the guys got a tatoo, and posed for a picture.

Another Hunt Saturday

Summer's flyin' by...Since my last post, we have gone to Austin, TX, and back, and have been busy. Just today, we did a ton of stuff, even after a bad night of sleep, involving wet sheets & 3 year old that needed to be changed, and a 1 year old who stayed up for 2 hours in the middle of the night.

While getting on our plane for Seattle in Austin, a family returning to Austin from Seattle stopped and offered us their unused tickets in they City Pass booklets. They included tickets to the Woodland Park Zoo. That's where we went this morning. Free admission and we scored free street parking.

Back at home, once Tyler was down for a nap, David and I finished our sandbox project in the front yard. Ahhh, no more little stinky pond.

Everyone took a nap, but I was up first, so I went grocery shopping. Upon returning, David was getting the boys ready to test out the new sandbox. We gave them a snack of frozen yogurt pops, and then they were ready to play.

We had a delicious dinner of rock fish tacos, then headed up the street to the playground. Stella followed us all the way there, hung out with us, and followed us home.

After the playground, it was Tyler's bedtime. We promised Vincent we would have movie night, so he was able to stay up extra late. While getting Tyler ready for bed, I had to search for his pajamas, and returned to him standing in the bathroom, saying, "Poop. Poop." Yup, there was indeed poop on the floor.

Once Tyler was in bed, David and I sat down for a movie with Vincent.

Whew! Now that I'm recapping my day, it doesn't seem like that much, but it really did feel busy.

Pool Time!

It's beautiful and warm in Seattle! I've started taking the boys to the nearby fountain and wading pool again. I don't have pictures from the fountain, but I do have some from two trips to the pool.

We ran into our friends Clay & Robin and their 3 children the first day. My boys pretty much just wanted to eat snacks most of the time. Vincent did run in and out of the pool with George, sharing each other's water toys. That was nice to see. It's getting really fun to see Vincent and George play together because they are both talkative, energetic and charismatic kids.
And, on the next day...first thing they wanted to do? Eat. I allowed half an energy bar each, and made them get into the water. Nope, didn't wait 30 minutes.Once in the water, they had a blast. Tyler found someone else's toys and started to play. At first he couldn't figure out why this yellow pan wouldn't hold the water he scooped (it was like a strainer). Then, he put it on the yogurt container and, I think, he pretended to cook. He kept saying, "Ha! Ha!", which means "hot" in Tyler-talk.
David met us there. Vincent was excited to take Daddy into the middle of the pool to watch him play. I thought David looked pretty cool with his jeans folded up like this.

Fourth of July Camping

Took the kids camping for the first time this weekend! The last time we went camping, Vincent was in my belly. Here are a few highlights.

Lowes & A Cookie

I took the kids to Lowes this afternoon after no naps, and before the farmers' market. I was too busy running around after them, and getting pee'd on by Vincent in the Honey Bucket, to take pictures of our fun outting. But, I got a couple of them in the fancy shopping cart at Lowes.

And, check out the cookie Vincent made for me at summer camp today! We had lunch together, just us, and he ate his, but didn't ask to eat mine. Tonight, at bedtime, he asked me why I hadn't eaten my cookie, yet. So sweet. Now I need to wait to eat it in front of him. Breakfast, for sure.

Have you been reading some of the comments left on this blog? Many are in Chinese. When I use the bing translator, the comments don't really make much sense. Today, I saw one in English from someone I don't know, and also made no little sense. I've been trying to delete these, but it is super annoying, and I don't know why it is happening. Any tips anyone? I'm thinking of making my comment settings limited to people who are members of this blog. What does that mean? Like you have to be a follower or something? Sheesh.

Anyway, if you see one of these comments, and wonder WTF?, know that I'm wondering the exact same thing.

Summer Camp & Dog Wood

Vincent had his first day of summer camp this morning. He did a great job at drop off, and was in a good mood at pick up. He announced to me that he ate all his lunch and wondered if I had a snack for him. I sure did. Since camp is at the beach house on Lake Washington, I decided we would sit down by the water while he ate his ZBar. He said, "After I eat my bar, I'm going to touch the water." And, that he did. Immediately after he finished it, he took his shoes and socks off, asked me to help him roll up his pants, and we tested the water. All this time, David was apparently nearby on an Argosy Cruise boat, and we never saw each other. Maybe his boat was making all those big waves that got Vincent soaked. Luckily, I had a tank top under my shirt, so I let him wear it. Still so cute in women's clothing.
After David's cruise, and my visit to the courthouse to get a parking citation waived (success!), we met up on Capitol Hill, sans children. I saw this amazing dog wood tree.
